Fate is Dead originally appeared in 1999 on an EP for a band named Pluf. I was 19 and a freshman in college. Don't name your band with a vowel that contains an umlaut. You won't be able to type it. People will pronounce the band name Pluf (rhymes with Fluff) instead of Pluf (sounds like Ploof).
The lyrics I wrote at age 19...weren't good. This is basically a treatise on post-modernism. It drifts a bit into nihilism (Take this with you/That it's all nothing).
"We believez in nossing, Lebowski."
It's catchy, though. The harmonica take was splendid as well.
lyrics
I'm thinking too much
I'm feeling too deep
I'm looking too far
I've gotta start over
So I clear my head
Try to start from the top
Rain falls down on me
Now I see
(chorus)
Tripping through
Slipping by
Looking around
Wondering why
Fate is dead...
Always fight myself
Never stop to think
Start to feel
In front of me
Just open my eyes
I'm trusting in you
Show me the roads
And where to go
Take this with you
That it's all nothing
Drink from the fountain
Spilling from heaven
